Dear Potential Fair Participants,
The San Miguel Basin Fair Board met via teleconference this past week to discuss numerous topics, one of which was the COVID-19 pandemic and potential impacts to the 2020 San Miguel Basin Fair.
The Fair Board would like to let potential Fair participants know we are closely monitoring the situation with the guidance of San Miguel County officials. Hoping the virus subsides and the danger of infection decreases, the Fair Board currently plans to fully execute the 2020 Fair.
The Fair Board is working to be flexible in order to make quick and efficient decisions when time and information permit. The Board is also considering alternative and creative ideas for the Fair, if necessary.
Due to the prohibition of 4-H in-person gatherings, the Fair Board has rescheduled the lamb, goat and hog weigh-in and tagging for May 29th, which will be conducted by appointment. Please know this date is subject to change depending on future events and protocols.
We realize numerous kids have already made substantial time and monetary investments in their projects and we are strategizing to support the community. Please know we are thinking of our community during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Regan Snyder
SMB Fair Board President
