Jacqueline has spent her life quietly building her knowledge as a naturalist โ€” a journey that began with lessons from her grandmother and continued through years of hands-on learning with the San Miguel Basin Colorado State University Extension.

Now serving as the Administrative Assistant at the San Miguel County Extension Office, Jacqueline combines her deep passion for plants and the environment with her work supporting local programs, producers, and 4-H families. Sheโ€™s always happy to help with plant identification, gardening questions, and community resource connections.

With 33 years in San Miguel County (and 19 of those in Norwood), Jacqueline is a certified Colorado Master Gardener and is currently pursuing her Native Plant Master certification. She also serves as the Pollinator Specialist for the Down Valley Park Pollinator Garden, a role she continues alongside her work at Extension.

Jacqueline looks forward to helping grow and sustain new educational and community initiatives throughout the San Miguel Basin.

๐Ÿ“ Office: San Miguel Basin CSU Extension, 1120 Summit Street, Norwood, CO

Annika grew up on a small farm in New England, surrounded by sheep, chickens, and a lush family garden. After studying environmental political theory and social psychology at Bennington College in Vermont, she launched a career as a freelance journalist and copy editor, sharing stories of rural life, environmental resilience, and community leadership.

Following many years in Telluride โ€” where she managed Mangala Yoga on Main Street โ€” Annika settled in downtown Norwood, where she now leads the San Miguel Basin Colorado State University Extension Office as Director and 4-H Youth Program Coordinator.

An avid skier, mountain biker, trail runner, and yogi, Annika brings a human-centered and creative approach to community building. Her work focuses on connecting CSUโ€™s research-backed resources with local wisdom to create impactful programs in youth development, agriculture, and natural resource education throughout the region.
