Welcome to the San Miguel Basin 4-H community! We are proud to offer a range of clubs designed to empower young people and guide them on their journey of growth and learning. Our 4-H clubs foster a sense of responsibility, leadership, and teamwork, while providing members the opportunity to dive deep into a variety of projects and activities.

Livestock Clubs

Our local livestock clubs provide a comprehensive program for young people passionate about raising and caring for animals. Whether you’re new to the world of livestock or have years of experience, there is a place for you in one of our four clubs.

  • 4 Stars Club – Meets monthly in Norwood
  • West End Club – Meets monthly in the West End
  • Lone Cone Club – Meets monthly in Norwood
  • Wilson Mesa Club – Meets monthly on Wilson Mesa

The Equine + Artistry Alliance

An umbrella club designed for members involved in horse, leathercraft, and shooting sports projects. The goal of this club is to provide a streamlined, flexible option for members who wish to focus on these specialized projects without the need to join a livestock club.

Key Features of the Equine + Artistry Alliance:

  • Inclusive Membership: Members can make the Equine + Artistry Alliance their primary club if they are involved in any of the following: horse, leathercraft, or shooting sports.
  • Support for General Projects: Members can engage in general 4-H projects, such as arts or woodworking, within this umbrella club, with proper mentorship and structured meetings.
  • Collaboration and Community: Opportunities to come together for activities, fundraising, and fostering a sense of camaraderie among members from different disciplines.

San Miguel Basin 4-H Horse Program

Program Introduction

This curriculum provides valuable resources for both beginners and advanced equestrians, guiding them through the various aspects of horse care, riding techniques, and safe practices. Whether participating in local events or working on individual projects, youth in the San Miguel Basin 4-H Horse Program gain the skills and experiences that will last a lifetime.
